There were no strict silhouettes here. Everything had a little extra room—the oversized button- and zip-free coats; the long sexy dresses with frayed hems and waist-deep Vs covered up black fishnet; shiny black trousers with a ton of slouch.
Philo is the master of understatement. On the surface, there's not a lot going on in some of her looks—straightforward separates. But really, it's all in the attitude and sumptuous fabrics. A simple mock turtle blouse and skirt, done in silk, feel like something special here. And maybe it also has the addition of humor—said look was worn with a pair of fuzzy yellow pumps.
Her black and white statement ended with a white blouse with an oversized twist of fabric, like the girl tied her shawl around her for ease. And of course, a pair of fur slippers. So maybe this is how the girl's evening ended.

Phoebe Philo told a twisted evening story for spring. Nearly every look was black or white and done with a tux reference, just loucher and cooler. And we mean literally twisted—many exits featured an oversized twist of fabric at the waist or bust.

Kenzo Spring 2013
Carol Lim and Umberto Leon have always been the coolest kids in fashion. And this currency is what the Kenzo brand was banking on when they asked the team behind Opening Ceremony to reboot the label three seasons ago. For spring 2013, the duo's message was about the urban jungle (and where better to illustrate that than Paris?).
Safari jackets, camo and jumpsuits were reinterpreted into off-the-shoulder dresses and high-waisted pleated trousers. Meanwhile, jungle prints were spliced into loose t-shirts, deconstructed dresses and long shorts.
Leon and Lim took animal prints and juiced them up with poppy colors and large scale so they looked more abstract than animal.
Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2013
Kids born at the end of the 80s or afterwards just won't understand how much fun the Jean Paul Gaultier show was. Sure, it relived the glory days a little bit in a season that's been more snooze than snap, a little energetic romp goes a long way.
Gaultier literally trotted out the major trend setting icons of the 70s and 80s at their most iconic. It was like Romper Room for rock stars: I see Grace and Annie, Madge and Sade. There's (Boy) George, Bowie and Blondie. And over there is little Michael Jackson.
